Which Rochester Quadrajet For 72 K5 4 SP

Hey members, I want to get an original carb for my 72 k5 350 4 speed. I have done some research but not sure what to get. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Which Rochester Quadrajet For 72 K5 4 SP

carb number should start out with 704 (1970-1975) then 1 or 2 depending on if your truck was built in '71 or 72 then 2 for quadrajet with federal standards then 0,1, or 2 for chevrolet, last odd number for manual tansmission.
example: 7042219
704=1970-1975
2 =1972
2 = quadrajet with federal standards
1 = chevrolet
9 = manual transmission
Hope this helps.

Can't say for a truck, but my 49-state '72 Nova w/350 & 4-speed came from the factory with carb #7042203.

Go to http://www.corvettefaq.com/listing.asp?group=1&sub=11 , and click on "Quadrajet Tuning Paper (updated) by Lars". Scroll down a good ways and you'll find a chart with carb numbers and some applications. Mine shows '72 Corvette, but I bought the car new and it's the original carb. You might find your application in there somewhere.
