Re: 55 project thread
I like the smoothed inner fenders. Are you painting in your garage?

![]() the first pic is just the base the 2nd is with the candy w/pearl. It was starting to get windy so I didnt clear it till the next day. Once that clear goes on its oh so pretty though. On a side not I recommend everyone that paints a candy to do it while the truck is all together. I was lucky and you cant really see a difference in the color but you can easily spray to little or to much candy on one piece and have it look completely off. I pray I dont mess up and the doors look way off. Last edited by 55ChevyPU; 06-22-2006 at 01:57 AM. |

Re: 55 project thread
awsome truck. can you give a little info on how you smoothed the firewall? I`m looking at a 55 now that somoene has butchered the firewall to put "hang down" pedals in. I think it would be easier to smooth it then to repair it back to stock. thanks.

Re: 55 project thread
its coming along nicely everything is so smooth and shiney better than new. i assume there is a lot of wet sanding between coats for trash removal from painting out side i plan on doing mine the same way
keep up the good work and keep the pics coming

Re: 55 project thread
Very nice work, I just joined the site and I'm using your pictures as my targets of what I want to do (can't hit a target if you don't have one). I just started the frame-up restoration of an original 55 Napco 4x4 and I'm planning many of the same things that you've done, so thanks for the pics. Nice job!

Re: 55 project thread
After a fierce battle with the motor mounts from hell I finally got them in, To my dismay the truck did not leave the battle unharmed....
