Holy great find!!

For those of you that have been following my tach dash install thread, you'll know that I scored a rather nice entire cluster (w/ the all chrome bezel & front) for $10.00. The only drawback was that the chrome finish was a little dull around the edges of the bezel and the printed circuit was burned out. Well, I didn't pay much attention to it since I really only wanted a few of the bulb holders when I bought it so I could put them into mine. Well, today I was contemplating putting the chrome bezel into my truck so I was cleaning it up and noticed that there was a metal piece that came out the back, and did a 90* bend and had a fitting on it. "Hmm, mine doesn't have that, and it's in the vacuum gauge location, but from the front there is no gauge...????" So I'm taking it apart and low & behold the gauge IS there and it's mint! So I've got a vacuum gauge cluster!!! Scooooooore!!!!!!! So all I have to do is cut out the inner bezel where the vacuum gauge goes, and then hook that bish up and I'm stylin!

ok ok!! I'm almost done installing everything, and it's only a temp install at that just so I can get my truck on the road again!! I found that the glass for either of my dashes will not work with the vac gauge since it has those stupid lines on it that interfere with the gauge so it's hard to see behind. I'll need to order a vac gauge specific glass for it to remedy this. It looks pretty sweet with the all-chrome bezel though!

Re: Holy great find!!

You can buff those lines off of there with polishing compound and wax.
