i had the axle apart this summer and checked and the bearings are fine. the yolk is worn where the u-joint is allowing the joint to slide back and forth. so it sounds like i can replace it without opening it up. i'll go by the driveline parts shop get another one and a new u-joint then i will hopefully be vibration free!!!
