Need some MIRROR options - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey guys a while back I was trying to figure out which mirrors would look good on my truck. I bought a set of 73 sport mirrors. I don't mind them they look pretty good. My problem is that the holes originally drilled are on the first lip from the window which means the 71-72 sport mirrors base is to big to sit on it.

I think Mudder had the same problem with his but said the 71-72 mirrors didn't look that bad on that spot. Just wondering what other mirrors (that DON'T have to be painted) will work. I don't care for the Miata and the F-150 ones are way to big.

In fact if I could get away with covering the holes up with something and doing away with mirrors all together that would be awesome.

What's wrong with these?

Maybe you could use that arm with a different head?

-OR-

You could cover the holes with Suburban upper trim that goes over that spot and wraps around the back. I've never seen that done on a truck, but it looks like you're going for the no-trim look...

The passenger side keeps spinning around and I can't get it to stay still. I'm freaked out by it because it's real close to my door. The passenger side keeps slipping down like it's just old. If I could fix them I would or knew how to revive them.

some of the 70's chevy and dodge vans have mirrors similiar to the sport mirrors. It worked for me.
