Woah, thanks!Lost Classics comes up with the sweetest trucks. They`re the ones that had that burgundy`68GMC dually 4wd p/u.They must do their own body work.
That is the truck I want to build.Or,at least one I want to build. Those are the fender boxes I`ve been wanting to find.I think that truck was set up as a camper hauler originally. The cap was probably fitted later.I wonder if that truck was a Stepside originally.I don`t know how to tell in the model#.But,I always understood that side mouldings were deleted on Stepsides. The p.o. could have installed them.

Pretty sure that was a stepside to begin with. I worked for a guy who had a 78 stepside and then an 87, both 4x4 stepsides, converted like that. They gave him the original inner wheelwells both times.

Re: Sharp! K2500 Service truck conversion (not mine) ebay

I was wondering why it had side mouldings since Stepsides didn`t come with them.I`m familiar with the upfit tool boxes mounted on a Stepside as well as the companies that made them.Other than for work trucks, many camper guys, especially in the N/W install low-profile utility bodies or installed those boxes for....their utility.Alaskan Campers has a real nice truck for their promo and offer utility beds in their catalog. Here`s another Stepside with fender boxes:

I BOUGHT A 4WD 72 GMC SUBURBAN FROM JEFF AT LOSTCLASSIC OFF OF EBAY FOR $8300. I TALKED TO HIM OVER THE PHONE AND HE SWORE IT HAD NO BONDO & WAS SOLID AS A ROCK. WELL I FLEW INTO BOISE & JEFF PICKED ME UP AT THE AIRPORT. WE DROVE ABOUT 15 MILES TO A BODY SHOP WHO OWNED THIS TRUCK, & IT WAS IN THE PARKING LOT. BEFORE I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK I WAS POINTING OUT BONDO TO JEFF. NEEDLESS TO SAY I FLEW BACK HOME WITHOUT A SUBURBAN. LOSTCLASSIC IS A BROKER THAT KNOWS VERY VERY LITTLE ABOUT THESE TRUCKS, & DOES NOTHING (NOT AS MUCH AS REPLACING A WINSHIELD WIPER LET ALONE THEIR OWN BODY WORK ), & SELLS VEHICALS ON CONSIGNMENT ONLY. HE SURE KNOWS HOW TO WRITE UP A GOOD LOOKING AUCTION & TAKE SOME FLATTERING PICTURES. EVERYTHING LOOKS TO BE IN BETTER CONDITION ON A COMPUTER SCREEN. DON'T GET ME WRONG, I'VE BOUGHT THREE TRUCKS OVER THE INTERNET, & WILL NO DOUBT BY MORE, BUT YOU HAVE TO KISS ALOT OF FROGS BEFORE YOU FIND A PRINCESS. IF THOSE KNAPHEID BOXES WERE PUT ON AT THE DEALER AS CLAIMED, THEY SURE DID A LOUSY JOB OF MATCHING THE PAINT. THE SIDE TRIM & THE CRUISE TURN SIGNAL LEVER POINT TO A NON-FACTORY RESTORATION. NICE TRUCK FOR SURE, BUT NOT EXACTLY AS ADVERTISED. JOHN

Utility/tool boxes ruin the look of the truck, IMO. Look at the vise mounted on the passenger side box!

Thanks for that objective view JunkYardJohn.

The VIN and Model says its a 127" Step-Side Pickup originally.

Also, for Sierra Grande it has the wood panels on the door, but should at least the dash have it also? And then maybe the glove box?

I tend to agree that is for the most part in tack, but stuff replaced. Still pretty neat. As always, if it goes cheap enough I can tolerate the short comings of it!

That truck is awesome! To bad it has the SBC and auto, or I'd have trouble sleeping at night knowing I didn't own it!

DON'T GET THE WRONG IDEA FROM WHAT I SAID... JEFF WAS A STANDUP GUY, & I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO DEAL WITH HIM. THAT IS ONE SHARP TRUCK. I PERSONALLY DON'T CARE IF IT'S NOT 1OOOO% FACTORY ORIGINAL. I DRIVE ALL OF MY VEHICALS DAILY. JOHN

I'm from OKLAHOMA and that truck would have that bed taken off and changed to a flat bed or long bed. Looks too clutered for my taste.

I had to part out a 72GMC 3/4 sierra grande same color combo, 2wd. Now I know what it looked like new, color. Still have the dash that's that color. I put a 67cab on it and plan on making it a nice 3/4 flatbed truck "one of these days".

Re: Sharp! K2500 Service truck conversion (not mine) ebay

I figured Jeff`s Lost Classics did their own body and paint because everything I see him offer is body shop fresh or at least polished and detailed.I saw that cruise stick, too and no mention on the VIN-spec.My Sierra says SierraGrande on the VIN-spec sheet, too.I`m sure there`s bondo in the cab corner.Look real close, besides,I`ve never seen a support rust before the sheetmetal.I want to build one like that.I was planning that color and I have a complete mint saddle interior gathered from before repro, including an n.o.s. steering wheel.I have the houndstooth bucket seat covers from C.A.R.S. that they put together for me back in`91.
I don`t care what anyone says, that truck looks awesome and at a show would have more people gathered than any other`72.The cap would have to go,that`s an add-on from later anyway.I would chrome that vise. That`s a truck guy`s truck all the way.In this day and age where you see housewifes running the kids around the suburbs in a crewcab Tundra,or 1ton turbo diesels commuting(solo) to the parking deck outside the office,it`s nice to see a real truck that`s more than pretty on a level uncomprehensible to the average truck owning mass.

Make a good truck for history or light duty for a plumber or electrician. I see a flatbed with a spike! Moooooo!

Take the topper off and mount a spike in that bed.Paint the cow wagon to match.I think Herfords would look best with those colors.
