Question straight 6 to big block?

i recently purchased a 67' burb with a straight 6 and 4 speed tranny... i want to put a big block with a turbo 400 or 700r tranny.... i have found a 77 chevy with a 454 turbo 400 and 3/4 ton rear-end.... will this be a difficult swap? has anyone done this? any input is greatly appreciated...

Re: straight 6 to big block?

Above mentioned items plus radiator, shroud, steering column, different throttle rod maybe, possible larger fuel lines, a bit of wiring. Shouldn't be too tough of a job, everything you need can be bought either through vendors or board members.

Re: straight 6 to big block?

if you use the 77 crossmember, bolt in but have to drill so holes, if the front end is 1/2 bolt it all in, cheaper parts better ride, motor mounts are cheaper etc.
With the 77 donor strip everything and bolt it in.........just about
only thing is that the 67 frame doesn't have a dimple for P/S no big deal, either go with what member wes did or get the kit from a vender.
Have fun, want a 67 burb!
