What to replace the headliner particle boards with.

I removed my head liner yesterday the perforated particle board (?) was sagging in places and was covered with spray glue and foam. I know from past posts that there are several options for replacing them. Let me know what you used and how it went.
Thanks,
Bruce

Big O used sheets of shower board from the local lumber yard. It looked very nice. It was the thinner fiberglass type product.

I am thinking of using formica. It is very thin. Then glue on the some perforated Parchment matching synthetic leather. It matches my parchment visors exactly. I may get some un-perforated to cover the dash pad to match. May go with a different color and dis the visors. Still need something to replace the plastic $hit bows with.

Re: What to replace the headliner particle boards with.

Search "American Classic Truck Parts" and on their site you'll find Headliners for our 67-72 Suburbans in vinyls and perforated materials. I've often been tempted to buy one of their headliner kits, but have "made do" with the original (and somewhat droopy) headliner on our BURB. If I recall their "Suburban Headliner kit price" was about $120.

THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT OF THEIR PRODUCT, but rather a possible source for Burb headliners.

BTW: Big O's Headliner was outstanding in the Burb he built...his whole Burb was exceptional!! I've seen that same material he used (in 4'x8' Sheets) at both Lowes and Home Depot. Utilizing the original headliner for a pattern, I am considering this method as a replacement "alternative".
Hope this helps...
