Question 1969 or 1970 Chevy Panel

Well I believe I found a 1969 or 1970 Chevy Panel. Some one converted it to 4 wheel drive, however the rear is still the truck arm set up while they changed the front to leaf springs. I was wondering about the front control arms if their mounts could either be unbolted from the frame or not and if they could have been then where I mount replacements to convert it back to 2 wheel drive. Also what should I look for on these things to see if it is in good enough condition to get?

well I need to figure out how much work it will take to change it back to 2 wheel drive because I don't think it is safe as it is currently setup

The front suspension is all bolted to the front crossmember which bolts to the frame. So all you should have to do is remove the 4x crossmember and bolt a 2wd crossmember with suspension under it. In fact if you're wanting to do the disc brake conversion use the crossmember from a 71-87 truck/blazer/burb and you should be good to go.

Re: 1969 or 1970 Chevy Panel

Well it doesn't appear to have a 4x4 crossmember on it. The front of the leaf springs are attached to what appears to be a piece of plate steel that is about 1/2 inch think by about 4 inches wide that spans the width of the front frame horns. The rear is lifted by what appears to be helper springs clamped to the truck arms. Also there is no engine in the engine bay or transmission the emblems on the side of the front fender says it has or had a 396 in in. It also was an automatic at one point in time
