whats the deal on these toe hooks

I'm pretty sure blazers never had these but i would love to hear the facts.
1. why do i see these sell for $500+ on ebay?
2. does anyone have a picture with these mounted on the rig?
3. what years and rigs had these from the factory, and were they an option?

anything else that you can enlighten me on about these hooks would be appriciated.

Re: whats the deal on these toe hooks

Those particular hooks were on 69 - 72 10, 20, and 30 series trucks, even Blazers. 72 saw an introduction of "extreme bend" hooks, but you will find both styles on 72's. Not a whole lot of trucks had them, which is why they sell for so much.

Re: whats the deal on these toe hooks

I will add that they were an option, and you should be able to find them on the option sheet of a truck that was originally equiped with them.

Re: whats the deal on these toe hooks

As was stated above, they were an option on Blazers. Here a couple of pics of mine with the factory 69-72 hooks (on the glove box option sheet!)

very very good post gentlemen....thank you. I am however surprised they were on the blazer. I cant tell from the picture but I'm assuming they bolt to the frame.

Re: whats the deal on these toe hooks

I have been looking for a set for a while now, call me cheap but Im not willing to pay the going price for them at least not now, I figure I will tumble across some for a more down to earth price or just do some trading for a set.

Don't all frames just have one hole on the sides of the front frame "horns" unless so equiped with tow hooks?

If I were to try and mount hooks on my truck I would have to drill 2 new holes. If I try'd to use the one existing hole they would not mount "correctly" at all. Or are you talking about tow hook equiped trucks that only had 1 hole for mounting hooks aside from that 1 hole on all frames? Cause I've never seen that before...but don't doubt it's possible.

Good question...
