FF,

Is that paneling you used inside? What did you use for the headliner? Pics? I'm finally going to start the engine swap (5.3/4L60E) the middle of next month.

Re: calling all 2wd suburbans!!!

Nice Subs guys. I've thought about giving up the quest for a 2wd blazer and getting a bagged Sub.

72burban, where are you at? Where's Fremont?

Yep, wall panelling from Home Depot I don't think they are in those pics, but I added several perimeter screws (drill and tap) to get them to lay flush all the way around. All the panel lines line up front to back.

The headliner is out right now (thus no pics ), but I have some white wall board from also from Home Depot I plan to use with the patterns from the old stuff once I dynamat/fatmat the entire roof.

Good luck on the swap!

Re: calling all 2wd suburbans!!!

Thanks. I actually thought it would be the first thing to go when I saw it. But after I dropped it and put the wheels on I thought it actually looked good on there. Gives it more of a classic surf wagon vibe that goes well with the wood inner panelling. It's a dealer installed option.

1972 3/4 ton, factory front and rear AC, tilt. 1990 Throttle body and 700R4 conversion. Daily driver/hauler. Almost done with it. Needs carpet kit and a vintage air upgrade. It was pulled from a junkyard with no engine, trans., interior or front suspension (it was a big block...surprised?)

Re: calling all 2wd suburbans!!!

Here's mine, not the best pics, but the only ones I have handy. My Grandpa bought the Burb in about 1974 or 1975, and it has been in the family ever since. I recently put the 3rd seat in as my family has been growing...

Re: calling all 2wd suburbans!!!

Long time since I've been on, getting things straightened out since the splitup. Finally starting to get things going on the 71' Burb. I have the 71 clip off and the 67' clip on. Firewall is shaved & rust repair is underway and the 72 C20 burb is getting ready to have the 402/T400 pulled for transplant into the 71' burb(then that is going to scrap). No new pics ready to post but I will get some soon and put them up... Once the 71' is done, the ex-Cheesewagon 72 C10 burb is going to go to a new owner...

I thought about it, but probably won't. I don't have the time right now and I'm sure that would add a couple of months to the project.

So you bought one huh? Looks nice. When are the 22s going on? Your neighborhood looks very similar to mine. So now we have at least three dropped 67-72 Burbs in town (mine, yours, and a brown one).

Re: calling all 2wd suburbans!!!

Yeah, I finally got it, I got it for a fair price. was in the truck trader for months, and the seller was about to part it out. I made an offer and got for way less than what he was asking. I had to put the 22s on hold for a little bit.
I wound up building a motor for it instead, which I am in the process of swapping out. Besides now I cant decide on 22s or 20s. I havent seen on 22s
a buddy of mine has a c-10 truck on 22s that looks sick but its not a sub.anyhow. I did notice our homes are similar, I'm near the Hawthorn farm intel. They all look alike these days. I was checking out you truck project, man its turning out PHAT, gonna be one bad ride when done.
I havent seen the brown brub yet m I have seen a lowered orange one though.
