replacement fender

Who out there has replaced a front fender? I uncovered a big batch of bondo and under that was a big gaping whole.
Looking to replace with an aftermarket and wanted to know who has done this and the results you achieved.

Re: replacement fender

I'll bet it was the passengerside...

I welded a aftermarket patch into mine, I've never tried the aftermarket fenders...

Here's a link... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=182903

I know some have used aftermarket, hopefully they will pipe up soon.

Good luck, Rg

Re: replacement fender

I stuck one of the new ones on. It fits as good as an original.

Re: replacement fender

I bought a repop pass side fender and had it lying around for quite a while before I fit it up. When I finally did I had issues with the alignment against the top of the door and cowl. I worked it to death but was just never satisfied with the way it fit. I ended up buying another one... second one fit perfectly.

Re: replacement fender

Thanks for all the great advice.
Next step is finding a shop in dallas TX that sells it so I don't have to pay freight. Anyone know where I can pick one up? Any body shop?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
