How do you fix this grill?

This bottom corner has a tear in it. I'm not sure what the best way is to go about repairing it. I will do a search but I'm not sure if this will be in the archives or not.

How much do those normally run? ("outer"?)

Are they readily availible on the parts websites??

Re: How do you fix this grill?

You can still buy them from GM IIRC.

Re: How do you fix this grill?

10 years ago they were $300. I'm sure they are probably $450+.

Re: How do you fix this grill?

Sounds about right for the price. They aren't cheap.

DISCLAIMER - I'm not an expert and I've never done this, so I'm just saying how I would probably go at it myself.

I'd try lightly tapping it out. Work with small, soft taps. Slowly stretch the metal back out. Once is it out, I guess sand it with some ultra high grit until the scratches are out, hit it with some polishing compound. You may have to sand and polish the whole grill to get an even finish again. They may have had a clear coat from the factory.

No repair there, you will have to replace.

Re: How do you fix this grill?

I have bought a ton of cosmetic stuff from Rick Miller (GEORICKPARTS on ebay). This guy is awesome to deal with. He will get you whatever you want just ask. OEM or repo. Made a trip to California from Utah for me and got everything in addition to the woodgrain moulding I bought from him on ebay. I just checked out what he has to offer.
Click here for his ebay listings.

Ahem... $73 right now for repo. Reserve not met though.

Click for grill listing.

$9 right now. Reserve not met.

$34 for REPO or $42 for OEM "Buy it now"

Here is another from him. $200. OEM GM Part.

Here's the grill parts I got from Rick plus the lenses.

Re: How do you fix this grill?

The one on ebay in TX is about 30 minutes from me (if the location listed is correct). It was quoted at $103.77 to ship to me!!
I don't need it I just checked on the shipping.

Who knows what the real cost to ship it to you would be, but if you win it I could pick it up and send it to you??? My buddy works at a dealership and may have an appropriate box. Just don't know if that would save much.

Re: How do you fix this grill?

Oh I guess the auction ended early due to the item not being for sale anymore... now 0 bids.

Oh well.

Re: How do you fix this grill?

I'll have lot's of old stuff to sell soon. Just need to finish up my "shop." I have an old shed on my lot that I'm turning into a shop. It's not tall enough for a lift but it can barely hold a blazer.
