I got into work this morning, and see this truck sitting in the parking lot. The only one ever besides mine when I drive it in, and a beat up 4WD that has been lifted 15' by a guy that works in the shop when he drives it. I was thrilled. Talked to the guy for a while, we knew all the same hookups, etc. He was very knowledgable about the trucks. Then I find out a few minutes later - they just hired him, and he's working with us in our department! How cool, I have a fellow 67-72'ian with me now! WOOHOO!

Just thought I'd share, not everyday you see a nice new unfamiliar truck.

That's a nice one. We have 2 or 3 that show up at work, we BS about the trucks now and then. No one as fanatical as me though...

I actually think he is a CAD Designer like me...so he qualifies for being smart...

I apologize for that. I hope I didn't stumble you guys on to anything that lead you into something bad. Don't want to be responsible for giving someone a struggle with that stuff.

I am working on getting my own domain with a website, so hopefully that will go through.

Don't know a whole lot about the truck - 350/700R swap. He's getting ready to repaint he said. Aftermarket seat. Factory air - wanting to go with aftermarket so he can hide it, get rid of the bulk.

I am an engineer.
I have a mutt (1970 cab on a 1971 chassis) 4x4, a 1972 Chevelle Malibu hard-top (my first car), and a 1971 Chevelle Malibu convertible.

I also have a 2002 Triton TR19 with an Evinrude 200hp (2 really is better than 4). It is on the lift now next to my pontoon and my 16 foot Lund.

I will put a pen or mechanical pencil in my pocket at work but I don't own a pocket protector.

Not ALL engineers have taped up black rimmed glasses with a pocket protector.

His brother also works here...
Just found out that even though he has the 700R4, he is going to have to look for an alternative daily driver.

He used a 1/2 tank of gas driving from his house, here, back home. He live's just north of Chattanooga, and we are just across the GA border, so it's a little bit of a strut. I protested, but can't say I don't agree.

He will at least drive it some I am sure. And we have the common bond.

Oh yea, he did tell me had a rear sway bar, and that it would greatly improve my handling (when I informed my was due to be arriving this week). So I am excited about that.

I need to call GMC Paul and check on that thing...

Also, if'n your curious, that's about a 4/4 drop, originally a 3/4, but he changed the spindles later, thus...

That is a bad @ss lookin truck. He's got everything just right on it, big rims, but not so bug they look like a michro machine, odd, yet very good color choice, just a perfect combo.

Like I said, definitely gives a new twist to orange 71 GMC's.

Also, I like the truck wheels and all. It's always good to meet a fellow 67-72 Chevy truck nut at work.

He may have the same size setup as me on the tires/wheels, so it's a very good point for me to ponder.

It is a nice color. I saw it on my favorite 67-72 of all time late last year at the Rod Run in Pigeon Forge.

I NOW HAVE MY WEBSITE REGISTERED AND HOSTED, so I'll get some pics up of that as well maybe...
