Pics of Big Block in L-6 location wanted

I know a lot of discussion has gone on about BB motor mounts, but I would like to see how close to the firewall a BB would be. I know a SB almost hits the firewall but will a BB even fit in the I-6 location. I like the rearward look and I am willing to cut/modify the firewall if necessary. Pics would sure be appreciated. The BB is going in a 67 C-30.................Thanks, Flat 67

I think Yukon Jack modified his firewall for a bigblock 4x4 in the rear mount location. anyhow to the top for ya neighbor

if your really serious about doing this in a 2wd then look into the corvette valve covers with the indent for the mast cylinder. i think youll save yourself some headaches by moving it forward though. since mine is a 4x4 mine will be way far back but im going to help it by using a small body lift and a little hammering.

After alot of cursing I was lol. It was a pain to get it square but it is there and running.

It also sits up fairly high that way, there is a good 4-5" between the c-member and the oil pan, kinda gives it an old school look.

Farmtruck, that appears to be the same way that they put the 454 in my K-20..............Wasn't too bad of a job IMO, other than they hacked a hole for the header pipe in the driverside tower, if they'd have added some round tubing to the back side it would have been a slick setup.

Don't know about yours, but mine was rubbing on the firewall with the big distributor they had on it.....................

Can't really tell you much more, I pulled the BBC and all associated parts from that truck.

I should have done that as well, but I dimpled my header tube a tiny amount instead, I can get a .175 feeler gauge in there and that's about it. I have no dist problems at all there is about 1/2 an inch or so there.

I just took a 396 out of my swb 4X4 and put a 350 in it's place in the same spot the big block was. No differansce that I noticed. The only clearance issue was the bigblock headers hit the motor mount stands and the smallblock did not. Sorry I have no pics of this.
