Little steering column question

I took my manual steering column apart to get the turn signal switch and wires for my "new" auto column.
I got the wheel off and shaft out. The switch is detached but I can't get it out. There must be a way to get it out without cutting the wires. Seems the column still need to come apart more, but I don't see how either the arm (the shift linkage attaches to at the bottom) or the aluminum block (the switch screws to at the top) comes off.
I don't see any more screws or retaining rings holding the rest together.

On the connector at the bottom of the column there is small pins to connect to the other half.They are snapped in and can be collapsed enough to remove them.The wires then will pull out of the column.Anyway I cut the wires on my old TS switch and threaded the new ones in that way then used the color code to reinstall the wires in the connector.I do know there are some differences in the columns,but I don't know if this affects whether your column shift switch will work with your auto column.

Thanks for the help, but I'm not sure I understand.
I see that the inner column seems to be spring loaded.
I don't see any pins.
So far, the only difference I see in the wires is there's an extra wire on the auto column that's not part of the harness.
I figured that was for a light on the indicator.
Guess I should try to post some pictres.
Maybe someone has some pictures of a disassembled column. Neither column I have is a tilt, I didn't expect them to have so many parts in them!
