Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...
This is a '07 Silverado 1500 Z71. I thought the '03 front-end treatment was terrible, but this thing is butt ugly in everyway, IMO. Looks like a full size Colorado. What do you guys think??

It will take a little while for that to grow on me. I hope I can live that long.

what the hell? you'd probably love what else I've got to say about that, but I think there's rules about rudely inappropriate language on these boards?

67-72's were very beautiful, graceful, refined trucks. 73-87's were agressive, still beautiful, mean but nice looking trucks. 88-98's (especially 95-98, early 99) were very beautiful, graceful again, very sharp looking trucks. 99-02's were ...well...more middle aged, sagging, kind of trucks. still look good, but not as good as Chevy's past. 03-06's were...well, a little softer on the Chevy Tough part, but are still alright, once you grow into the look of them. the 07 design there is... BUTT UGLY. I think somebody keeled over at GM when some mostly blind, young designer showed him that concept, and...well.... the rest will be a bad page in Chevy History.

Anybody know what the new GMC's will look like? Anyone seen/heard anything? I hope the GMC's aren't going to be that "radical"...

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...
Why can't Chevy build something i'd want to drive ? I'm getting tired of buying Rams . Thank goodness for 67 - 72's . Now our only hope is GMC .

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...
That makes me want to . What is GM thinking? I swear they took all ther old Know how and flushed it. It seems to me that Gm has alienated everyone that was loyal to them. I am a pure GM guy and so is my family but with what they are producing now I think I bought my last gm, 99 chevy astro. I say they need to fire every executivre and designer before GM goes out of buisness. It seems to me GM is doing an 80's Dodge company, building cars no one wants.

Look on the bright side, it is so fugly you won't buy one, and now you'll never know what a POS it's probably going to be, and you can continue to have a little bit of brand loyalty left.

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...
There's nothing cool looking about anything Chevy has out right now. The new Camaro MIGHT be cool if they don't screw it up in production.
I'm 99% sure I now own the newest vehicle that will ever be in my name.

All you got to have is a little imagination. I could picture that truck 3/4 ton Duramax / allison 4x4 with a regular bed and it would look pretty darn good. Maybe.

What I don't like is the latest GM SUV's. It's bad enough that they took away any thing on the exterior that might add character. To compound that they made sure you could not get it in a color that might actually add some excitement to looking at it......but I'm not bitter......

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...
Lets pick it apart and send it back to the General. Am I missing something here? I mean whats the purpose of the roof racks on a pickup? Reminds me of my mother inlaws f*rd exploder sport puke. The bed side on this thing is even butt ugly. You wont be able to buy a 67-98 anywhere now without having to give an arm and leg and probrably your first born to get it.

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...
Is it just me or do those wheels make it look like a F*%D?
I bought a suburban a couple months ago. 2007s were out, but I opted for a 2004 Z71 with only 4,400 miles. I love the look of the Z71 burbs and they are not making them any more. I just was not sure if the 2007 design change was going to grow on me or not. Still not sure.

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...
I have had my 03 for a little over 3 years now, and I am just now starting to accept to front end!!!! I had been trying to decide between a Duramax or a Cummings for my next truck, and I just made my decision based on that picture.
Do Rams clean up after themselves? I sure hope so

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...
I am surprised that nobody has mentioned that the hood has similarites to a 67-68. The grill and bumper assy suck though. The first thing I thought when I saw the headlamps was the wally world station wagon

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...
I've never liked how the quad cab tiny bed trucks looked by any manufacturer, even the 99-02's. They just don't look right? The reg cab SB or the ex cab SB are almost always a much better looking vehicle. Even so, I think this is a sweet looking truck. I'd buy one if I wasn't so attached to my '00 Z71. If I could make one change to it... a one piece chrome bumper. Other than that, I like it.
Y'all can piss and moan all you want about the new trucks. Truth be told probably 75% of y'all wouldn't buy a brand new truck anyway. We're a "classic truck" crowd. This truck was not aimed at us. The truck is aimed at the people who want a fresh looking new truck that is different looking and can get the job done. People get sick of the same old boring designs. GM has been flamed for having "boring" designs when companies like nissan and toyota have been coming out with "fresh looking" designs and people have been buying them. Look at the new toyota tocama. I thought it was butt ass ugly when it first came out. My girlfriend has an '05. It's growing on me and the damn things are EVERYWHERE. The majority of the population does NOT want to see a 67-72 looking truck. It's been done. They want something new. We are a MINORITY here.

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...
I can see the hood similarities now that you mention it but the rest of it looks like it was designed by someone who drives an Aveo, eats tofu and watches the Lifetime channel. Its just...ugly. You can see too many OTHER vehicles in it. I guess I will stick with my '03 for a while.

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...
It looks like a Honda.I like the Suburban much more.At least it`s smooth and uncluttered, way cleaner of a look in my opinion. Is the hood popped,or is that just poor fitment?Maybe a real truck, like a regular cab(they haven`t stopped those, have they?)K3500 SRW with a utility bed would be more hansome and less girly.Definately needs a nose lift. What a squatty cumbersome awkward looking "Off-Road package" that is.That`s right, they don`t go offroad. The Z71 pkg is a status symbol to let people know you got extras you don`t need.Eww,top-o-the-line,you got everything.Kewl....Q:What`s that square hole in the center/rear under the bumper of my truck for?A:Oh,that`s the place for sticking an accessory like a propeller, favorite team logo,or another place for a bow tie. Some people put bicycle racks in it.Seems so utilitarian. If you do buy an accessory to plug in,the good ones are expensive.Make sure you buy a lock so no one will steal it.Reply:Hey,thanks.You sure know alot about trucks.

That's hilarious! Check my sig for a quote I borrowed from CPNE. I'll totally agree with all of that except the honda thing? Maybe more Nissan? And yes, the hood is popped. Lots of people don't "use" trucks anymore. I go to muddy job sites and to NY in the winter, so I've used my 4wd a lot, but the Z71 thing is just a sticker and shocks. I was looking for a plain 4x4 to save money, but the only one I could find with a 5.3 (I was looking for 4-5 year old used trucks) was the Z71. Almost all of the "plain" 4x4's I looked at were 4.8's and I test drove a couple and the engine performance was not comparable to that of the 5.3, yet they get VERY similar fuel mileage I have the tow package and will admit that I've never used it. I have hauled a trailer with it, but I just put it in 3rd till I hit the highway. I think if GM was to offer a truck that had the 4x4 stance but was a 2wd that it would sell well. Look at toyota and nissan "mid-size" trucks. You hardly ever see a low to the ground 2wd anymore, no one wants them. They are buying the toyota pre-runners and Nissan dessert runners. 2wd with the 4wd height. You save on the 4wd price but have a truck that sits "like a truck." I think GM has started this with a 2wd Z71 Colorado??? and maybe some of the new tahoes???
