need some help w/column swap

heres what we are trying to do, take a tilt colum (from a 83)that has the wiper/high beam switch on it and put it into a 81 that had the dash mounted wiper switch and floor mount high beam switch. the high beam switch is almost the same i just modified the plug a little and it fit (dont know if it works yet cause theres no front clip on it yet. is it possible to get the wipers to work?

Re: need some help w/colume swap

You're going to have to get a wiring diagram for both, find which wire connects to what and get the plug off the 83 and make sure to leave enough wires on it to splice into it. Then rewire the plug.

Why not just change the turnsignal out for a basic one and keep the beams and wipers the same or is this what you're trying to get rid of?

Re: need some help w/column swap

ok heres how it works, just match up the colors and your done. you will have one black wire left over from the truck side that has no match for the column side cause the dash wipers had a light and the column dont. only problem i have now is the delay doesnt work and the washer doesnt work but i dont know if they worked before.
