looking at puting flares on my 79' pickup,not sure whether to go for xenon or bushacker cut outs?any recomendations would be great,thanks

If you went with the Cut-Outs,you`d solve any clearance issues you were considering.(and,really not affect the center of gravity)

I would say go with the bushwhackers. I have only heard good stuff about them.

I haven`t.I believe they are more durable.But,it seems for what you are doing the cut-outs would be your best bet for bigger tires,oops I mean tyres,and your existing springs.Unfortunately,Xenon doesn`t make cut-outs.

As posted before when you or somebody asked this same question a few months ago……I would NOT recommend hacking up perfectly good sheetmetal to allow clearance for Bushwacker cutouts. Bushwacker cutouts are for the poor soles that live in the Midwest and Eastern US roadsalt belt or hacks that don’t care about ruining perfectly good un-rusty OEM fenders and bed slabs. In my opinion the only justification for Cut-outs is when the fenders are rusty as all heck. Do cut-outs look cool…Yes, but don’t ruin a perfectly good OEM fender installing them. Buy Chinese repops for that.

This is what Warn 4xFlares look like on my unrusty ’78 K10. I would recommend the Xenon flares over these anyday, as the Xenon flares are more flexible whereas the Warn 4xFlares are hard plastic and will crack like an egg shell if they ever contact a tree or something. Luckily, mine have not smacked anything yet. I tried to order Xenon’s back in 2003 but their lead time to produce ’73 – ’80 flares was ridicules…..like 2 months wait time. I was too inpatient to wait that amount of time but that was before I knew how bad the Warn’s sucked. If I would have known….I would have waited for the Xenon’s.
