Part it or Sell it?

Going through some changes.I am stepping down from my`91 Suburban. The plan has been to remove the body and build a 67-72 truck off of the frame.Either a long Stepside or Reading utility body(I have both). All six doors are rustfree, but dings to dented(very repairable). The body was Ziebarted and only has a little rust in the rockers. The motor has a problem.A head gasket leak lead to a muffed piston,so it`s rebuild time.No forgiveness with 22:1 compression(6.2).It has 35"Goodyear MTRs/10"black steel rims,All-4 EZ-Ride 4"lift,Rancho 9000RSXs,new 3" exhaust,4.10s/posi rear,Warn Premiums, and most of all,a 4L80E w/stand-alone ecm since the diesel had a manual injector pump.I have a running 6.5TD to offer with it if I sell it.If I part it,I want the trans/t-case and could use the suspension/tires.I just don`t want it to linger. If I could get a reasonable price,I`d sell it all.I`m gettin`(trying to) away from my "hang on to it" ways.Trying to downsize.(this was a dream)
What I have is the potential to build a 3/4t 4wd 67-72 truck w/4"lift,35s,6.5TD,and 4L80E.Or,slap any GM gas motor in it you like.I believe at this point I`d sell it for $2,000 with the 6.5TD provided.For another $1,000,you could have a high-hump a/c clearance light cab,hood,doors,and either bed(or,a restoreable woodfloor Fleetside).If something happened soon,I have a part vehicle to so with:`86`Burb,6.2,TH400,cruise control,dual a/c,4.10 posi,good rear 1/4 doors/tailgate to go with.Never ran it/condition unknown.Anyone up for a project?
What`s it worth?Checking interest.What would you do?And,all that.

I think 2k with the 6.5 is a good price. I wish I had the money, maybe in a few months. TTT

I haven't really had much luck parting out Suburbans. There is always a lot of stuff left from the doors back. I used the last one for dry storage.

Re: Part it or Sell it?

I would sell it whole. This would keep it as a better project for someone else.

Re: Part it or Sell it?

LOL...Yeah,I have one for dry storage and my cat loves the second seat. The front doors are gone and I have a tarp draped.I haven`t been able to get rid of the doors or tailgate.I believe the time will come when we wished we had saved these parts. But,I`m not warehousing them.
If I parted it,it would be more to get what I want from it than what I could sell.I`m actually considering selling all my nicer complete vehicles and ending up with a couple rolling chassis and parts to build-up two exactly how I want them, for keeps.I had been planning to buy a bigger piece of property and build the 40x60(or bigger)of my dreams along with a parts yard and machine shed for future projects. But,between the cost of real estate locally and hopes to relocate elsewhere not likely,I`m simplifying and can build-up later if the outlook changes.

Re: Part it or Sell it?

Not to influence your thinking or anything but with "All six doors are rustfree" I might be interested in the two front ones if you part it out
