1969 chevy truck Buy it or Pass? Help?
Ok, here is the truck. Many of you might remember it from the members posting of it a few months ago. Well it is back up for sale. http://striker169.net/Truck/Truck%204/Index.htm
current owner cant keep it as he is also moving. I have inspected the truck and it is a good, if not great, collection of parts(note with exception of cab, see photos). Here tis the problem. I dont need it, but I want it. mainly the engine and transmission. The 454 sounded strong, doors, fenders and other parts are in great shape but I dont need them. Could sell but then I spend loads of time trying to sell stuff to get my investment back. I am supposed to drive it today( last visit was out of gas ) Any thing with a 454 I need to know or check out specificaly? Lastly, what would the bed on this thing be worth? Dont need it and it would be the first thing I would try to sell? Better yet, is any one looking for something like this bed? Thanks, Thomas

longbeds are difficult to give away much less sell // i'm real cheap and would be looking more in the 400-600 range if that// might go a bit higher if the doors and core support are excellent seems to me alot of work for a used engine with unknown history lots of engines can sound good for 15minutes at a time but with regular use quickly turn into rebuilable cores

Re: 1969 chevy truck Buy it or Pass? Help?
I think I can get it for right about a grand. the biggest hurdle is the engine. SInce I have not driven it dont know what it will be like. Parts wise it seems to have enough to add up to make it worth the purchase
Tach Dash, Edelbrock intake and Carb, Great 68 doors Fenders in excelent shape Core support is weak but not a problem. Comes with second set of fenders and doors that are driver condition. Power brake set up Not too sure about he painless wiring set up though. Of course the bed is in great shape but will someoen want it if I sell it?

Re: 1969 chevy truck Buy it or Pass? Help?
I would personally pass. I've decided to focus on only one truck and not have a collection of crap laying around (even if you will try to sell it off in pieces.) What will most likely happen is you'll look at it and look at it and realize, heck, that thing only needs a cab... then u know where it goes from there!

Nice parts, true. Still tempted. But told myself I would wait for him to call me back. No call at this time, and I was going to offer less based on the feedback I received.
