Lets show 4x4's~!
I want to see all the 4x4s on the board. Tell about what you got under her as far as lift, no lift, drive line etc. Mine is stock height with 73+ Edelbrock IAS Shocks, I now have 265X16 Wild Country Mudders on it. I hope to take some new pix this weekend with all the Cool fall colors to post early next week. In the meantime lets see what you guys are running~! Thanks Ski*

Here is my 72 K/5 blazer. it has a 4" BDS lift with 33x12.5x15 cooper all terrrains.it has a 300 horse 350 with a 350 turbo tranny behind it with 205 transfer case.im not sure on the rear diff ratio but im guessing 3:73's or even 4:10's.and let me tell you guys do not go with BDS (big dicks suspension)i think it is a really rough ride and is not worth the money i paid for it.people have told me they have seen my front tires come off the ground from hitting a little dip in the road doing 30mph.IT IS ROUGH.

MY 72!!
I "built" this truck from the frame up about 5 yrs ago. It originally came from Arkansas. It had factory AC , but not much else. I added a few options to it . It now has an original tilt column, factory tach , speedminder , a cruise control ( to be hooked up) off of an early 70s Chevy car, cold AC, and dual batteries.
I rebuilt the stock 350 , punched it .030 ,added an Edelbrock Performer intake and carb. It drives thru a re-built 350TH /205 ,into a set of 3:08 posi's. ( I have a set of 3:73 posi"s on the shelf she may get someday ,along with a 700 o.d. ) . Im running stock rally wheels with Goodyear ATs. The truck is driven daily ,except when theres salt in the winter. It is usually hooked up to a trailer at least 2 or 3 times a week. When I first had it done, I had a guy that wanted to trade a 4 yr old truck even up for it... I told him that wouldnt be fair to him! :p

here's the rustiest 4x4 on the board, it's a 72 K-10 short step, that used to be a LWB. It's all bone stock except for the tires and wheels, which are General grabber ap's 31x10.5, and 15" ralleys from an 87 Chevy.

This is my brother's truck.....unsure of the lift, tires, etc. Since this pic was taken, he has put Weld Typhoon's wheels and Mickey Thompson tires on it.
Just thought he would get a kick out of seeing his truck on here. He isnt a member here, but does check the boards regularly. Last edited by Shane; 10-19-2002 at 12:01 PM. |

33x12.5(shoulda got 35s) sm465, np205, spicer 60, dana 44, 350 performer intake mild cam, headers, 1406 edelbrock, body work being done this summer, arizona bed being put on, cowl hood and if theres any money left hugger orange paint and a new grille, plan on buckets and more lift. anyone here ever warp a driveshaft? mine is mildly warped im guessing its cuz of the lift causing the different angle its at.

Here's a pic of my 69 K20.
It has 35x12.50x16 Super Swamper SSR's on 16x8 steel rims. Nice and cheap rims! I put a 4" lift consisting of 4" front springs and a 4" shackle flip from Offroad Design along with 4 Tuff Country SX8000's, a Rancho steering stabilizer, and adjustable drag link. I ended up having to lengthen and add a CV joint on the front driveshaft. The rear driveshaft required no modifications. Later I added some additional leafs on the rear springs gaining an additional 3 1/2" of rear lift (7 1/2" total rear lift) At about the same time I added a heavy duty spring leaf to the front spring packs and a centerbolted tapered block up front. Front lift should be about 6". I am told the centerbolted block up front is safe, but it will be gone at some time in the future. In the next few days I am adding a 2" body lift to give room for a 454 that is being installed within a month. The pucks were made by a friend from aluminum. When the 454 goes in, I am also swapping in a 4 speed manual in place of the three speed. The present engine is a monsterous 307 that puts out an incredible amount of power. Why I'm replacing it with a puny 454, I don't know The rear axle is a Corp/Eaton with a factory Detroit Locker. The locker is great! The front axle is a closed knuckle Dana 44. It's gotta go someday. My truck came factory equiped with a manual throttle and very little in other options.

OK, Here's the Beast. It ain't pretty, still lots to do compared to most of the others I've seen on this board (like Pont and Mudder, I love your trucks!). It's got a 4" lift with dual Rugged Trail NitroCell shocks front and rear, and another pair of NitroCells in the rear acting as traction bars. Dana 44 front/Dana 60 rear w/4.10 gears. Front and rear sway bars. ProComp dual steering stabilizers. Tires are BFG M/T 35x12.5R16.5 on old style American slotted aluminum wheels. This is the way it was set up when I got it. Rides like a tank.
