Hood brace

Looking for some Ideas to make the hood a little more solid. Pics would be great. Thanks in advance. Steve

whats not solid? oil the hindges and make sure the rubber is in place between the skin and braces

that reminds me, is there a good replacement for this foam/rubber? my truck is missing it from one side of the hood. if you press down on the hood, like when washing it, it moves up and down, but not enough to worry about it staying that way. but, i would like to get it fixed.

I get the impression he's got a hood that's bent in the center, as I see that from a lot of these old trucks myself. It's something I wouldn't mind knowing as I've got a couple of good '68 hoods that are *just* starting to give a teeny bit in the center. I thought I saw a pic of one guy's truck where he had some kind of brace there.

They made braces for the 73- trucks but never have seen one for these truck. I have a large stash of hoods and none of them have that problem.
Like above making sure the hinges are lubed and in good working order is you best bet

I hate how flexible the hoods are as well and will be fabbing something when I get to that point.
