Gawd, I should know this. But I can't quite remember. The smog pumps on LT-1's are electric, and everything's located up front.

I *think* it's the solenoid that regulates the EGR valve operation. Whether you need it or not depends on whether you want the EGR to function or not. EGR function can be removed in the computer programming.

Sorry man, my T/A's at the performance shop for cooling issues, so I can't look. I just don't remember otherwise. Your EGR vacuum line should be going into a similar little setup. Check for it.

Pic # 1 is the EGR solenoid
Pic # 2 is the evap canister purge solenoid
Pic # 3 My 95 SS does not have that solenoid. it is not part of the air pump system on a 95 Impala SS. Could be if it came out of an F body.If you do not hook them up, it will trigger a check engine light. I am not sure if the PCM will be OK with that. Some trouble codes will force the PCM to go into "limp in" mode. I will look and see later if they will.

After looking closer, the motor does appear to be f or y-body. (Camaro or Vette) From the aluminum heads. SS impala has cast heads.

Yea what he said, and it will run fine, I did not hook any of that usless smog crap up on mine and it ran great, and it still runs great in my buddys nova. I made a plate to cover the EGR hole so I could remove the valve as well.It will log a trouble code but will not send it into limp mode( at least not on a 95.
