Re: Ipod in your truck? What ya got?

I was thinkin' about this: I don't have an Ipod, but my phone works as one. I plan on integrating the "dock" into the ash tray, and having my original radio rebuilt and upgraded to have the ipod inputs...

Re: Ipod in your truck? What ya got?

I bought a Sony Xplod deck/cd player with the 1/8" mp3 player jack. Right now I'm just plugging my ipod shuffle into it. It works great!!!!
There are a lot of options if you're going to play an ipod through your truck radio. Griffin makes some cool accessories for it. I work for Apple in educational hi-ed technical sales and recommend their stuff a lot.

Re: Ipod in your truck? What ya got?

I've been looking for a way to hook up a portable CD player to a '96 Cadillac w/cassette player. If I can't find a cassette adapter that the deck won't kick out, I might use the Audiovox FM modulator. It goes between the antenna cable and the head unit, and switches off the antenna when in use, eliminating bleedover from FM broadcasts.
