Tow Hooks for x-mas, finally got em...

Here's the story...

I bought my 68 K-10 SWB fleetside this summer on ebay for $1600. After picking it up in NY from the original owners son I noticed that it had tow hooks on the glove box sticker. The original owner (deceased) was a small town mechanic and used the truck to tow or push vehicles home to work on. He had a custom steel push bumper made and mounted onto the front of the truck, removing the original bumper and tow hooks. The owners son found the tow hooks in his dads garage and said that he would mail them to me. That was 4 months ago... after bugging him every two weeks I finally find out that he powdercoated them and was going to send them to me. He started a coating business and I guess he used "my" hooks as a project. Now he wanted $60 for shipping and his powder coating costs....Not much that I could do if I really wanted them (of course they go for $150 - $250 for the pair). I finally got them in the mail today and they look nice, big too. I never realized the size of them.... Anyone have pics of 68 hooks mounted? Thanks...

I have a lot of work to do before I can mount these puppies... blast and paint the frame at a minimum... I think that some loctite will be in order when I do mount them, hate to have them grow legs ya know.

I would hate if my towhooks got stolen. If I had some 72 extreme bend towhooks I would spotweld the nut on the bolt so they wouldnt get stolen

Well, they look great powdercoated - definitely would have paid $60 if I were in your shoes.
