im wondering if anyone has messed around with remotly operating the t'case so that there is no shifter coming thru the floor. for one thing it would make a great anti-theft device espessially if you could lock it in neutral.!!

If you can get the rails to shift smooth and near effortlessly, you could put a cable out of site somewhere, almost under the seat, under the dash, etc.

Is this for your dually project? Since you have an air compressor on board, you could use air cylinders with electric controlled solenoids. One for 2/4wd, another for high/low. It would require reworking the transfer case detents which is no big deal. Plumb the solenoids so when de-energized air is applied to 2wd & high. Then separate rocker switches power them up for 4wd & low separately. It should be a trouble free setup. The main thing to figure out is travel required & the pounds of push/pull it takes for shifting and choosing the right size of cylinders.

Great idea...just don't accidently shift into 4 wheel drive w/o the hubs engaged while moving. That would be really hard on gears.
