I had to take material off of those 'ribs' when re-drilling the 5x5 truck pattern to the 5x4.75 car pattern on a stock 12" C10 truck rotor.
These re-drilled rotors have been used on a daily driven vehicle now for 6+yrs so I would say it won't be a problem.
