airbag hard air line ???s
Hi guys,
I was wondering what it would take to run hard lines instead of the plastic air lines. Any pros and cons about using hard lines? 1) What type of lines to use (copper, aluminum, stainless steel?) 2) How to go about connecting pieces. 3) Type of connectors to use at joints. 4) What size OD to use if I want to use 3/8 valves thanks, jay

Hard line is great, as long as you don't install copper. Go with SS and you will be very happy!

what's wrong with copper? I'm guessing it can't hold enough air pressure for bags or somethin?

It tends to break easily and not seal nearly as well as other materials. Plus, it looks like crap when the finish is oxidized after a short time.

Stick with poly lines. They are cheaper and hold the air just fine. I use them every day at work in critical applications (a leak would be devistating to the pricess) with no problems. If your really paranoid about leaking fittings, go with a swedgelock design. And remember, teflon tape is not a "sealer", it's more like a lubricant that allows the fittings to go deeper into the tapered NPT thread. We all know that deeper is better

I know the poly lines work fine because I have it for the bags in my back in my s10. I just want to go a step further (read as "being anal"):p I also use the liquid teflon (I forgot what it is called). Anyway, thanks for all the input. I also got replies at sportruck.com
