Brake pedal question

I have a question on the brake pedal. Is there a difference between manual and power of where the rod attaches to the pedal arm? I have the booster with brackets and the correct linkage rod through the firewall but just curious if the attachment hole is different for manual vs. power. I have 5 pedal assem's that all have the same hole. I'm sure they are power pedals but just curious if there is a difference.

TIA - Bob

Re: Brake pedal question

Yep, pedals are the same, but beware of the mal-adjusted master cylinder rod. I did the swap with mine and the rod was adjusted a bit long. It took me forever to figure out why the brakes began to tighten up after driving (and stopping) repeatedly.

Re: Brake pedal question

I have heard of guys mounting the rod lower on the brake arm after a power upgrade but don't know if it's necessary. Something about not needing as much pedal to stop and it makes the brakes less touchy.

Re: Brake pedal question

generally the P/B rod will mount about an 1 1/4 lower than where a manual rod would mount

Re: Brake pedal question

I was curious as well, my 2 conversions are touchy, almost kissed the windshield on the first stop, but after 24 years of having to stomp the pedal, it takes some retraining...
