Which spray-in bedliner?

I am wanting a spray-in bedliner and I wanted to kind of see what experiences you guys have had with them. The ones I have on my 2 work dodge's are junk and chip big time, not sure what they are though. I am really liking Line-X but the nearest dealer is about 3 hours south of here and I really don't want to make that trip.
Any opinions would be great.

Re: Which spray-in bedliner?

There are many out there. I have just done hours and hours of research over the last 6 months....and I came to the Conclusion: GatorHyde is absolutely the best spray-in liner available in today's market. Fact is Trucks TV show just did a test of all the liners and came to the same conclusion: GatorHyde! I am currently waiting for a DVD of the show to run in my reception room.

So...If there is a GatorHyde shop near you....get on over and talk to the man!

www.Gatorhyde.com is the web site. Made is the USA by GatorHyde parent company Elastomer Specialties.

Yes, I am a dealer in Denver, CO.

Re: Which spray-in bedliner?

I used http://www.herculiner.com on a friends Bronco, my old Toyota and will use it again on my truck if I ever get the new bedside installed.

Is it the best? Maybe not. But it's cost effective and I can do it myself at home.

<edit> It was in my Toyota for a couple years and I never had a chip or flake. I use all my trucks for "work" too.

ChevyDude - The closest dealer to me is around 6-7 hrs away. Not a good option. Did you come up with a second best in all your testing?

Re: Which spray-in bedliner?

I've had personal experience with black Rhino Lining on a company truck. It was some tuff stuff. Dealer put it on real thick, and it was dang hard to mess it up. It did begin to fade to a dark grey after a few years, but I'd use it in my personal truck.

Re: Which spray-in bedliner?

havent seen gatoryhyde until I got on here , nor do I know anything about it.Do they offer a warranty , how is the slide characteristics and does it fade out, the only problem I have with the Rhino lining I had done about 3 years ago , is that it sorta changed colors a little , sorta faded , not sure if I should even bother to dress it up due to fact I have a bed cover (tonneau cover) I love the fact I can set somthing in bed on the rhino and it grips, wont slide around, I have hauled rock, sand, gravel, brick, you name it , its tough stuff, not sure on the line-x or gator stuff, but all in all I am happy with what I got.

It did a little, but it still looked black. It wasn't like gray or anything.

From what I've seen Line-X gets pretty slippery when wet. Not sure about other products though.

Re: Which spray-in bedliner?

my '71 had a spray on liner applied about 20 years ago(didn't know they had them back then), then the PO put a camper on it for the next 10 years and the it sat 10 years without anything in the bed and the spay on liner is still there, just a little thinner. The color is white and gray specks.

Re: Which spray-in bedliner?

I have had a lot of experience with spray-in liners and the best I have come across is Armorthane. It is the only one that I know of that still has the same gloss level and texture in my friends truck after over 5 years of hard use...

The only thing that has touched it was Battery acid and it only discolored it, no change in feel or texture.

Re: Which spray-in bedliner?

check out www.turboliner.com

It is a Polyurea rather than polyurethane. Supposed to be a more even thickness and not fade. My brother has this on his truck which he uses for work (construction) and he is very happy with it.

On the website you can click on "dealer locations" and then click on your state. There are 2 dealers in Texas but I don't know how far from Lubbock either of them is.

One loc. (Nixon, TX) is about 7 hrs and the other 9-10. I'm going to do some calling this afternoon to see what is offered here in Lubbock. I'll let you guys know what my options are here but from all the posts I'll probably look at a Rhinoliner because I'm a 100% we've got it here. Thanks for all the info.

Re: Which spray-in bedliner?

I called around here and there are three types, the Ultimate Liner, Reflex and PolyTech. The ultimate and poly are about $350 while the reflex runs about $450. The guy I talked to said the Reflex was better than the ultimate (same dealer). I then called the body shop I plan to use one day when I have the money and they told me the best they've seen have been the PolyTech so I'm kinda torn. If you guys have any input on any of these let me know. I won't be doing this for a month or two after some paychecks roll in so I'll let you know what I decide on and post some pics.

Re: Which spray-in bedliner?

Alex (ChevyDude) sprayed my C20 with GatorHyde and it is AWESOME! I have Linex in my CST and I like it too. The GatorHyde has the nicest texture and looks though.

If you are in Denver or close by, I highly recommend Alex's work.

Re: Which spray-in bedliner?

Thanks Larry! Yup...Gatorman here in Denver...ready to spray!!! Without bashing the competition...RNO liners are 10 year old technology. They apply theirs cold and low pressure and it takes 4-6 hours for it to dry and has a cottage cheese look. GatorHyde goes on Hot, High Pressure, and dries in 6 seconds, 60 grit sand paper finish, and the glossyest bedliner material on the market.

GatorHyde comes with a LIFE TIME no questions asked warranty. We have the highest content of Polyurea in our formula and the highest amount of UV protectants. All things set in the sun will fade, however in testing done at the GatorHyde plant. ours will withstand the sun much much longer than any of the competition!

Re: Which spray-in bedliner?

I would trust nobody but Line-X. I have had several things coated with Line-X and I have seen how bad their only "real" competition Rhino Liner have ended up a couple years later. It dries in less than 3 seconds and the process is painless. Paint matching available!!

Re: Which spray-in bedliner?

I had rhino lining done back in 2000 when my superduty was 1 month old.
It has held up really well to abuse and use, its color has faded a little but not too much.
