what did you raid the piggy bank for this week?

this board allways seems to have a what did you get done this weekend thread but for some including me, sometimes you spend your weekend finding and ordering parts. being that that's just what i did this weekend i'm curious to know what you raided the piggy bank for this weekend?

for me, i ordered several carb linkage parts since those $400 carbs don't come with any linkage brackets, an exhaust system, and a cab rubber kit.
All in all it set me back about $350 but i should be able to drive my gmc late next week. "it's only taken me 6 months". =)

Re: what did you raid the piggy bank for this week?

Bought a remote mount solenoid from Summit to cure my "hot start" problems on my 71. The other stuff I bought for my 59: Rear license plate bracket and tailgate trunions...How exciting! Had to get something for my birthday!

Re: what did you raid the piggy bank for this week?

I broke the piggy bank. $15,000 going to soon-to-be ex-wife on Wednesday (divorce finalized) and $300 for four dozen roses for my new girl. I should be able to recover my $15,000 loss over the next six months. It will take an eternity to replace the new girl, she is something else. Later, Mark

Re: what did you raid the piggy bank for this week?

I spent $80 on gas to get to the project
about $30 on whoppers during the trips there and back
guessing around $30 in shop supplies
for the first time in a long time I spent exactly $0 on parts.
I spent the entire weekend hacking, slashing, gobbing and grinding
(might have been some swearing in there too).

Re: what did you raid the piggy bank for this week?

Well for my 97 burb
Intake gasket, valve gaskets, high pressure power steering line, Lucas oil ($9 a quart), flush, filter, PS fluid, new belt, shop towels, lunch for me and the Bro(Saturday), Breakfast and lunch (Sunday). Total $380
On my 93 GMC pickup
Water pump
Coolant
$60
Having a drive way covered kitty litter to pickup the PS fluid and antifreeze priceless.
And as for the 70 c-10 it will have to wait till the piggy gets full again
