Cool Have you ever...

been criticized for talking about your truck too much? The other day my buddy told me "Jesus Danny, you talk about that damn thing everyday! Talk about something else."

He's partly right. I talk about it a lot, but there;s no such thing as too much in my eyes. I'm hanging onto this sucker to the grave. And maybe after that too.

Re: Have you ever...

The guys at work probably get sick of hearing about my plans for my truck but they really don't have any room to complain seeing as they are farmers. No offence to farmers, I come from a long line of them myself but they really have to find things to talk about that don't include their cows or their crops.

Other than that there's just my girlfriend who routinely rolls her eyes at me, she never complains about me spending money on the truck though so I think I'll keep her.

Re: Have you ever...

I think the people at work are starting to get sick of seeing my progress pics, every Monday I have a few more. They always ask when I am going to be done I always tell them when I get more money ;o) Which is every two weeks.

What's your buddy into? Do you allow him time to talk about his hobby? If it bothers him so much that you talk about your truck so much, maybe it's time for a new buddy.

That or his buddy needs to get a 67-72 so he can aquire the sickness too!

I've learned to not discuss the K20 or K5 too much around my wife as she thinks I'm obsessed with them anyway. Heck when I was working hard on the K20 she called it my mistress.

Re: Have you ever...

None of my friends are car people except one, he's a ford guy, but he has cool fords. He has a nice 78 bronco (which is his DD) and a solid original 67 ford stepside. My girl has no problem with what I do the truck or that I spend money about it, she just doesn't want to hear about it. That's why I post here so much, this place is my "outlet" to "talk trucks."

Well, out of the 3 topics men discuss, trucks, sex and beer, my wife prefers trucks.

I don't talk about my truck much to my wife because she is always making fun of my truck. Then she starts to associate $$$$$$ to my truck. This being the case I get my fix on this board.

Re: Have you ever...

Yep, I have been looking and talking alot lately about getting some 1969 Texas Truck Plates as well as a set of factory sport wheel covers for my 69. So my wife tells me the other night while I was sleeping and she was reading a book that I mumbled something about 69 license plates and hubcaps.

My wife says I bleed old cars. Or the old, "That thing looks like a POS, how can you like that car?" For, me, It is the potential of a vehicle I see. Looking in the junkyards, I see nothing but hot rods waiting to be.

Re: Have you ever...

I avoid talking about the old gal in front of my girlfriend. She appreciates all the work I've done and loves to ride with me. Heck, my truck was her desktop for a while, and worked as an excuse to ask for a date. But when I discuss how I'm going to modify my trailing arm cross member it starts to go downhill.

I don't talk cars/trucks and she doesn't talk cadavers (studying kinesiology @ college). I think it's a fair trade.

Re: Have you ever...

Ha HA COWS AND CROPS...

Actually that quote came from a guy that drove a 65 Mustang w/ a 302. It was faster than my truck. He had to sell it for family reasons. I think he just has a slight bug up his ass since he doesn't even own a car now.

In all honesty, he loves my truck almost as much as I do. He just wished he had something atleast as half as cool as it

Buck up Chris! Its true, girls get tired of HEARING about your truck. But get them inside it and its a whole different story. As it is, I've got a frickin' waiting list of peeps that want a ride in Dan's old muscle. No joke, I'm not even trying to lie here.

i have 2 loves in my life, my trucks and my female, truck came first. if she decides that no matter how much i tell her that i love her, and she still thinks that i love them more, its time for a reality check for her. but it is a damn close tie.
