February 2007 TOTM - Heartbeat
In honor of the holiday, this month’s TOTM theme is
Heartbeat! With that in mind, let us check out the criteria or rules for those being nominated for Valentine Heartthrob Cruiser. • Open to all years and models of Trucks, Blazers, Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, and Jimmys. • The truck has to be painted either: all red a two tone red combination or for a custom job, red must be the primary/base color of the vehicle. • It must be together and able to move on its own power. It does not have to be licensed for street use. • If a truck has won a TOTM already in 2006 or 2007, you are ineligible. If you were nominated but were not selected as a TOTM winner then you may be nominated and compete in this month's category. To Nominate: You or someone else may nominate your truck. Just add the nomination to this thread. We will need a picture of the nominee vehicle, the owner’s board name, and the basics specs of the truck (year, engine/drive train specs). You or your nominator can provide additional info if desired. Nominees will through February 20. If additional information is needed, then I will PM the first 15 nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing them for the board. A Poll Thread will be set up in this board area and an announcement will be posted on the Discussion Boards to notify all of the voting. The Poll will start to run on February 21 and will run until the morning of February 28. The official announcement of the winner will be on the afternoon of February 28. The announcement of this month’s TOTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area. Oh yeah, hurry up as you got one day to remember your gift (to stay out of the dog house) for your special-special person!

I hope it's okay that I pulled these pics from MOT. I vote for Mudder's awesome 67 4X4 Stepside.

Re: February 2007 TOTM - Heartbeat
Well since there are no other 73-87's, I nominate mine. I mean, it IS red.
85 Chevrolet K20 4x4, 350, 700R4, NP208, former plow truck, lots of rust underneath, steel beam for the driver side rocker, aluminum sign for driver side floorboard, burn spot on hood from past engine fire, but it runs like a top now and I love it to death. Yeah yeah, I know I'm not going to win, but SOMEBODY has to throw in a red 73-87 for the Valentine's Day edition of TotM. Last edited by JTK20; 02-13-2007 at 02:41 PM. |

Re: February 2007 TOTM - Heartbeat
Wow, it always amazes me, no matter how much you like your truck, & think it's really nice, then you see one that's so much nicer then yours & it not only humbles you, but starts the creative juices going to improve on what you've already done, I love this place! Anyway, here's mine.
it's a 1971 C-10 with an Early Classic Enterprises 4/6 drop kit, Goodmark Steel Cowl inductuon hood, full instrumentation includining center Tach, IDIDIT Polished Tilt Column, Billit Steering wheel, it has a mildly built 350 with a high lift Isky Cam, Crane Roller rockers, 2.02 heads, RPM Manifold, Demon Carb, March pullys, Ceramic Hooker headers, dual 2.5" exhaust into dual Flowmasters, 12 bolt 4.56 gears. Th-350 trans with stage 2 shift kit. The motor is pushing around 375-395 HP. The headlights are upgraded to H4's with Blue bulbs, 15" Eagle polished aluminum Wheels with BFG Rubber. The bed has a Gaylord's Locking Lid that is fully carpeted on the underside, & I have a 20 Gallon Polished Stainless Steel Fuel cell in the front of the bed under the back window. I've had a few inquiries about the seat, it's out of a 98 chevy fullsize truck & it fits nice & is very comfy. The truck is painted Viper Red with Vilolet Pearl in the Clear Coat. After all of the positive comments that I have rec'd...I'm throwing my entry in the pot. It's a 68 with a 71 frontend (it was on there when I got it), vortec 355,TH400 w/ 3.73 rear gears. I torn into it last May and just finished it. Total frame off resto. Again thanks for all of the positive comments and remember to VOTE! haha

Re: February 2007 TOTM - Heartbeat
I am going to submit Kyle4381's 62 Chevy SWB Fleet for consideration.
An awesome end result, built from some of the more difficult years to modify (60-62, Xframe, torsion bar suspension, reheaded stepchild years etc).
