Well these fit?
I was flipping through my summit catalog and was wondering if these will fit. Summit part # hok-2466, jegs part number # 520-2466. I would like to know if they will fit a 69 suburban with a 350 and a 700r4.

Being that you ahve a 4 speed, things may get a little funny.
I know that the actual item my differ from the pic, but look at how the headers swoop back... Your Z-bar will probably get in the way if they look anything like this. Why not get some full length hooker headers for the truck? Mine have never smacked the ground...even with teh tired old springs up front. |

I have a 4 speed now but the next thing im going to do is put a 700r4 in. so the z bar wont be an issue. I just need something to put on my xmas list.....

I have Hooker Comp full lenght headers on the longhorn with a 3/5 drop, & dont have a bit of trouble with them sparkin on the road.......i could go another 1 - 1 /2" drop, & doubt if they would drag. if you plan to "lay it" on the rails, you might want to stay with a 3/4 lenght header ......

I also have a friend who had nonfull lenght headers and I liked how much more room there was to take trannies in and out. ( I have a bad time with trannies)
How about ac? I wonder if the bracket will fit...

A/C...I can't help you with. But I'm sure they have a good set up though.
As for tranny swaps...I did have to remove 1/2 my exhaust (including header) last summer when I dropped the tranny out. |

The hookers came with an ac bracket. Its been a while since I saw the old ac set up, but looked like the bracket bolted tween #2 & #4 tubes.....

As far as I know thoes hookers look the same as the summit cheapo headers that I have. I love these things and they were only like $75 or $175 coated. Let me know if you want to see installed pics.

Hey, if you're bagging it, you would probably definately want to go with shories. It is not laying the frame that would give you a problem, but speed bumps. Just a thought.

I had the speed bump problem with my 68 lemans and it was not lowered. I had to pull the passanger side header, take it to a muffler shop have them cut it, flang it, put it back together, and weld it up. Worked out pretty well just dont want to do it again. Plus I dont want to see the headers when looking at the truck from the side.
Question: Are all the shorty headers 2 1/2" collecters?

Shane those headers look great . that,s what i have been looking for for my seventy two. what spark plug looms are those where did you get them and how much. are the wires specially made for them or is it a stock set.

Jeg's lists the coated headers as being for 64 - 87.
Their ad for the standard headers says Dynomax Standard Series Headers - 78-87 Chevelle SB-Chevy (shorty) Item # 289-85012 Anybody know why? The standards are only $99. Thanks |
