Question Rear seat help

My son has a 2001 1500 extended cab. We raised the rear seat and couldn't figure out how to get it back down. Is there a release button somewhere? I was able to use a screwdriver and push the release in under the plastic cover but I am guessing that is not the proper way to do it. I looked all over the thing and couldn't find the dang thing. Thanks guys

Bernie

Re: Rear seat help

My stereo took the place of my back seat, but when it was in there it seems like you had to push it farther upward and then down to get it to release.

Re: Rear seat help

Push up as far as it will go and pull the little loop strap on the bottom corner to release it.

Re: Rear seat help

That is what I kept looking for. My guess it that is strap got torn off at one point and is not there. My son bought this truck used and there was not a owners manual so it was just a guess on my part. Thanks for the information that is why I like this site....some will always have the answer...thanks guys.

Re: Rear seat help

My strap is on the passenger side, but my truck is only a 3rd door truck. Don't know if it's on both sides or 4 dr ext cabs or not. There should be a slot in the bottom material where it protudes through.
