Clutch rod rubbing on headers
All,
67' LWB 283 3 Speed Saginaw. Gotta pair of Hedman HED-69092 full length headers. The clutch rod rubs on the rear pipe below the 90. Anyone else have/had this problem? Any cures, like an 'offset' cluthrod or maybe pounding a dent in the header to make space??? Thanks, JD |

Re: Clutch rod rubbing on headers
just smash the pipe for clearance a common practice and little to no performance effect on the header

Re: Clutch rod rubbing on headers
I had the same problem with my headers on my inline. I did what cdowns suggested - took a ballpeen and "massaged" a path for clearance. No ill effects.

Re: Clutch rod rubbing on headers
I think I saw a post somewhere about linkage adjustment.... they drilled a 2nd hole where the linkage makes a turn there and then trimmed the rest... but find the post as most can attest I like to make things up just to sound helpfull ;-)
