Re: What kind of MPG are you getting?

Have you checked your speedometer to see if it's correct? Mine is off by 9%.

With the mileage corrected I get about 13 mpg with a 700R4 and 3.73. 15-16 hwy, depends on how fast I want to go

Yeah I have had it checked. Just seems too good to be true for a BBC.

Re: What kind of MPG are you getting?

I would be very surprised if you're getting 15MPG with a 402 and TH400. I get 11 on good days with mine.

Re: What kind of MPG are you getting?

If the carb is jetted a little lean, you can squeeze an extra 10% in milage. It's possible to get 15 mpg but generally you have to drive with a VERY light foot and keep speeds below 60.

Re: What kind of MPG are you getting?

You should have a 3.54 gear set in the rear. I get 10 MPG in my 4wd 427 uphill, downhill, tail wind, head wind, you get the picture

only 3.26% of the responding board members on this poll have your luck... and I'll bet a punch in the balls they don't have a big block or get that kinda MPG at your speed.

Much better MPG now that the primary metering rods are unstuck.

Sounds to me like you had a tail wind and were going downhill when you burnt that tank of gas !!

Re: What kind of MPG are you getting?

Man, I have a factory 402 in my 71 pick up with a turbo 400 and even is I stay out of the gas with the factory qjet I think I can watch my gas gauge go down! Glad to hear someone else is not experiencing that with gas prices the way they are.

Re: What kind of MPG are you getting?

Move the decimal point back on the gallons you are buying...should bring it back in line.

Math error...LOL

350/350 Q-Jet K10 big tires (31x10.5)(OK not huge but too big for me.) - about 10 MPG

Re: What kind of MPG are you getting?

I would say check that every fillup and average it at the end of 10 fillups and tell us again what the mileage is. 1 fillup isn't a good reflection of true mpg. just my opinion.

Re: What kind of MPG are you getting?

I wouldn't advertise that kind of mileage for that big of a truck. The oil cartels will come and rip the carburetor right off your engine.
