Cst ?

I bought a 69 CST big block truck yesterday that has no high hump or headliner. I've never run into this before. The truck was built in Nov. of 68. anyone else had one without the hump or the headliner. It is an automatic truck.

Re: Cst ?

i don't believe that the headliner was standard with the CST package and its a low hump because its an auto trans.

Re: Cst ?

I see the contradiction here like you,Uncle. The big blocks all had high-humps and CSTs had headliners.November`68 was into`69 production time.I had a 396/3spd`68 SWB with a high-hump.It was all original and I bought it from the original owner. His brother and him ordered identical trucks.I see that truck was painted.Any chance the cab was swapped? How do the VIN rivets look in the jamb?

Re: Cst ?

That truck is a long wheel base correct? I believe that long wheel base and bigblock did not neccessarily mean high hump. I have seen both a 1969 CST BB with buckets and a 72 Cust. Deluxe with the low hump and both were unmolested originals. As far as the headliner I have no clue, I was under the impression that all CST models as well as Cheyenne and Cheyenne Super were equiped with the head liner and cargo lamp and fender seals.

Re: Cst ?

i have seen early production 69 CST's without headliner or cargo lights.i guess they were still using leftover 68 cabs????? as for it being a low hump/big block---maybe a factory goof up.
i just saw bucket seats on the option list, is it a real bucket seat cab ? if not then i agree with the earlier statement about the cab being swapped out at some time.

Re: Cst ?

It has the buckets, correct rivet heads and the vin matches the glovebox. You can see the seats on the parts board in the post Pics for Southernparts. I have seen a few 3spd on the column low hump cabs, but not auto.

Re: Cst ?

Uncle, i have 2 69 cst trucks. First one is a big block/400, high hump, no headliner, no cargo light, and no lights in the side markers. Second is a small block with turbo 400, low hump, no headliner, no cargo light. I know this doesn't help clarify the "humps" but should help with the other stuff. Eric

Re: Cst ?

there were planty of 69 CSTs without the cargo lamp and headliner. I had done a poll a few years ago and was shocked at the number that were ill-equipped.
Big block and a 3 speed would be a low hum... however, yours is an oddity, it shoulda had a high hump.

Re: Cst ?

I've parted out 2 big block trucks that didn't have high humps in the past, both cabs looked to be original, I just thought it was a factory screwup.
