Rearranged the shop
I sold my`72 Custom/10 swb a while back. One Saturday we went to my shop and got it out and hauled it to it`s new home,in site from my house.
It didn`t take long to fill the space.I went up to my brother-in-law`s after that for a party with mutual friends and stayed over.Today(Sunday),we loaded two sets of K/30 axles,a`95 14-bolt/3.73 w/springs,and NV4500/NP241 unit into my trailer.I`ve had all that stashed in his machine shed and figured it was time to consolidate the stuff into my shop.I just backed the trailor in and left it.I was going to unload with my engine hoist. But,that`s alot of work.I`ll wait until he can get by one day with his skid-steer. I want it unloaded and the stuff properly stored. Then,I can move the cab from my barn at the house to the shop where the short 2wd chassis waits.I guess it`s time to take the motor down and get it in for machining. This is a budget build and I have a TH350.But,man do I want a 4-on-the-floor.I have the peddles and linkage, but that`s it.I guess I`ll put the TH350 in and swap to manual later.

I'm a gear slammer fan myself. What tranny might you be wanting to put in the truck if you could find one cheap enough. I know alot of people and don't live to far away I can keep an eye out for ya. Other than that sounds like another build thread is to come and I love the sounds of that RJ22

Re: Rearranged the shop
Hey RJ22,I`d like an M21,M22,or a Super T-10 with linkage and all.I don`t want to go searchin` for stuff to complete it.Everytime I get a line on one, something falls through or it`s more than I`ll pay with something not right or needed.

Re: Rearranged the shop
I agree with that. BUT ya never know what might pop up and I seem to find some good deals and never have the money at the right time so I would gladly pass along a deal to you if that were the case. I file it in the back of my mind for future retrival

Re: Rearranged the shop
Now the fun will be picking all that out from the trailer. That sucker has some weight on it.It`s funny...the 4wd project (the Beast) will be all tough with 1 ton axles and 37" Swampers, but have a 4L80E and the 2wd project (the Beauty) will have a stick-shift.It`s not really going to be a beauty, though. It`s a budget-build using mostly used parts I already have and will not be shiney.I just want that`60s muscle car vibe with a hurst 4 on-the-floor/posi.

I know what your saying. That's what my project is, it's a '71 but will have a '68 front clip, 427 c.i., M21 4-speed, and a 12 bolt w/eaton posi unit. It's going to be what Chevrolet would have built as a Yenko 427 Truck. Sounds like you have alot of nice stuff you picked up for your projects.

Re: Rearranged the shop
Sounds like your Yenko will be awesome. What color paint & stripes will it have?I`m hingeing on my motor for the 2wd.I`d love a ground pounder,it was going to be a pro-street build. But,I need a cruiser to go on longer trips.Prolly just build the 350 healthy/not too radical.I may toss the auto in and save for a Doug Nash o/d.

Re: Rearranged the shop
I'm going with the same color it is and white yenko stripes with all the correct badges for that year of yenko. Black interior with bucket seats and console. I want it to look factory as much as possable. I have Weld Drag lights with an 11" tire for the back and skinnies for the front for the hot rod look and 8" truck rallies back, 7" for the front with red line tires for the stock look. I can't wait to get back to the states to get back to the build. I sure miss my trucks.

Re: Rearranged the shop
You need a Yenko/10 emblem. It would look awesome with stock center 8" wheels painted body color with the Camaro/Nova dog dishes.

Re: Rearranged the shop
That would be a cool emblem. I got these valve covers off ebay. Thats what changed it from a "SS 396" to the "Yenko 427" Project.
