Power Window Kit

I've been looking for a power window kit to replace the crank-ups in my '71.

I haven't been able to find exactly what I'm looking for.

Is there a conversion kit out there that replaces the manual crank handles with the power buttons , and fits real good onto the door panel ?

Thanks,
Zac

If so, find that info here:

But, you can keep the original crank handles, and still use power.

Re: Power Window Kit

Auto-Loc has a kit that looks pretty sweet, and is fairly cheap.

Re: Power Window Kit

Just curious, how well do power window kits actually work? I know my "cranks" are extra cranky and I could see an electric motor burning up. Probable would have to rebuild them huh?

Re: Power Window Kit

I have the A-1 bolt in kit for our trucks, and it was a pretty easy install by itself. It works great, but you have to have the track placement PERFECT!!!! If you are off by 1/8 inch, it will bind a little as it rolls up. Now add in the post style window switches, (and trying to mount them in correct location so that you can use your original door panels), and you will spend more time getting the switch and power window kit bolted in together as they will both use one common bolt hole on the door. Was a pain for me but I got it after a while....

Re: Power Window Kit

TOB,you may need new regulators if your windows are that hard to crank.I replaced mine and still occasionally have hard cranking.I found that by spraying the tracks and felts with silicone lube they work much better.
