Second Condenser - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Why is there a second condenser on the coil on some of these trucks? There is a condenser inside the dizzy so why is one on the outside of the coil as well? There is nothing shown in the shop manual electrical schematic to indicate this either.

Hmmmmmm...thanks. Does it connect to input + side or output - side? I am guessing input side since there is already one on the output side in the dizzy.

It connects to the coil along with the line from the switch to the coil, so it would go to the + side.
