Having trouble with column and harness

I know that this is not the original harness on the column. Can someone identify it? I was looking at the harness and wiggled it out, put it back in and now my signals dont work!

Seems like my switch at the column is not working, and when I fuss with the wires that go into the harness sometimes the left and right blinkers start working.

any sugestions? here are some pics

Re: Having trouble with column and harness

Try checking continuity? Or a little grease on the blades to help make a better contact. Check where the wires are soldered, maybe a cold solder joint.... jmho

Re: Having trouble with column and harness

Don't recognize that column---it is not chevy truck or van for this vintage. I suppose you could wire it in but would recommend you use either crimp connectors backfilled with silicone caulk or hard solder them to avoid poor connections. Huck

Re: Having trouble with column and harness

I figured it out last night. The harness is mechanical, it slides when the turn signal lever is moved. Is that the way 67-72 trucks are? I decided to take the harness out and install a three position toggle for my blinkers until I get new tilt coulmn that is for my truck. Anyone got a tilt they wanna sell?
