Cool K5 Lifted to K10 stock suspension swap.

K5 Lifted to K10 stock suspension swap.

I’ve been consider returning my 73 K5 Blazer to stock height. It’s currently got a 4 inch lift. My question for you guys is – can I swap the K5 lifted suspension to my 80 K10 Long bed and the K10 standard suspension to the K5. Or will there be spring length issues?

I’m obviously trying to cheap out and save a trip and money at the junkyard.

Also, is there a link or site that notes standard spring lengths?

Thanks!
- Dave

Re: K5 Lifted to K10 stock suspension swap.

I think the Blazers/Suburbans have the same length rear springs while the trucks are different.
I think...
But if the rear is a block lift you should be OK.

Re: K5 Lifted to K10 stock suspension swap.

As long as its a K10 the springs will swap right over. The 3/4 tons and up had the longer rear springs that wouldn't work on a K5.

The rear springs on the K5 and the K10 should measure out to 52". The front springs on k5's, K10's, K20's and K30's are all the same length, they just hold different wieghts.

Just make sure you go out and buy 16 new u-bolts. You don't want to reuse the old ones.
