ok yall. ive been sanding my truck down getting it ready for paint. ive been working on it a couple hours a day and only have the passenger bed side ready. most of my sanding is getting paint off. could i use some paint stripper and then just sand out the rough spots? would that be easier? is there any downside to using paint stripper? any sanding tips you can give me would help.

i just used some today called aircraft stripper comes in can and you just spray it on i used it on my dash cause it was a major pain in the ass to sand the small areas i wouldnt recomend doin any small areaas like that cause it make a big ass mess and if it gets into small cracks like between the windsheild it's a huge pain to get it all out but for fenders and stuff i think it would work great you just spray it on and in like 10 mins use a rubber putty knive and just scrap it off cleared my door in no time just messy and i didnt have any problems primeing the door afterwards im no painter but it worked for me

i already sanded my dash. ive already sanded and painted all the interior metal. i know that sanding the whole body is a pain in the a**. thanks.

I run a restoration company as well as an auto parts store (Best of Both worlds!) and the aircraft paint stripper in the gallon can be controlled better with a paint brush.Up to 5 coats of paint per application will strip off with the gallon version instead of the spray can. If it only has 2 to 3 coats of paint you can just about let it dry for less of a mess and cleanup.

where can i get that? im gonna do that. sanding all the paint off by hand is a pain in the ass. thanks for the help.
