what is the easiest way to do this without breaking it ??

Just start in the corner and roll the weather striping down while your pushing out on the windshield. it will start to pop out as you go along.. That is if the rubber is plyable, if its hard then just cut it out cuse you'll have to replace it anyway..

It works good on them if the rubber gasket is plyable. Just don't try to use anything smaller than 5/8" hose and 1/2" elect. cord. There seems to be at least a couple of different windshield gaskets because it didn't work very well on the '72 I tried it on yesterday. The rubber gasket was different than the one on my '70.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I don't think removing the windshield on these trucks can be done without breaking it. I removed mine by first trying the suggestions of other threads, and no dice. I had never done one before, but the way the windshield rubber fits over the metal, I just dont see how it can be done. In fact, when I had a new one put in, the guy at the glass place said that they cracked 2 windshields before getting the one that's in there in. But, maybe you'll have better luck than I did.

I've pulled my windshield quite a few times and never broke it and have pulled a friends without breaking.. You have to remember the ruber goes over the metal when it is installed without breaking.. I did have to cut the rubber on another friends 67 because the rubber was so hard and unflexable..

I've pulled a good number of them without breakage. I use a razor knife and sacrifice the rubber. They are much cheaper than the glass is.

I pulled a windsheild at my favorite junkyard a while ago, I bought 2 throwaway utility knives,and my buddy and I cut the rubber away and removed the glass with no problem.

i pulled the winshiels and back glass out of mine without any probleoms, i dod cut the weaterstripping becasue i am going to use the chrome trim when i put it back in
