Do I need this?

I bought my blazer with no doors and was planning on cutting down a set of truck doors to use. I know people have done this before, but I found something on ebay that I actually never knew existed. The question I have now, is do I need the plates like in this auction? or is it something that is kind of overkill on Chevy's part?

Re: Do I need this?

Thanks for the quick response Luv! It'll be on it's way to my house now. Now I just need to find one for the driver's side.

Re: Do I need this?

They make repop Blazer doors now. I'm not sure if they have that piece on them or not though.

Blazer doors also have that little metal piece at the top. I"m not sure what it is called or what it does though.

Re: Do I need this?

Thanks Bouncy, I've heard mixed comments about re-pop doors, so I figured I'd save myself some money and use some truck doors that I have that are in good shape. I have found some of the little metal pieces that you are talking about if they are in fact like the picture below.

Re: Do I need this?

My LMC repops don't have them in fact they are not even pre-drilled for them. Goodmark's might be different and that wouldn't surprise me with the way these doors have fit so far it's a wonder the door latch holes are even there. I have a set of factory doors that need re-welded around where the hinges go on and some cracks around the vent assembly but I'm tempted to just put the time and effort into them instead of using my repops...the quality just sucks!

Sounds just like my Blazer's driver door...

Re: Do I need this?

Is there anything else that I should know about Blazer doors? Anything that's different then truck doors, I mean.
