Re: Disc Brake Swap Booster Info.

Not sure if you can use the factory booster, but you can use the 80 booster and modify the brackets. I posted a thread on this subject earlier today. Here is a link for a great idea to make the brackets work with no shifter linkage clearance issues:

Re: Disc Brake Swap Booster Info.

I am doing the same swap. My plan is to use the original booster from my '70 and upgrade with the disc/drum master cylinder and dist. valve for a 71-72. I have installed the front brake lines for the 71-72 disc brakes. Only a small ammount of modification needed to bring the lines through the frame rails.
Good luck, Lane

Re: Disc Brake Swap Booster Info.

harley...here is one where they modified the brackets to fit the firewall, but it WILL interfere with the shift linkage on the automatic.

was sitting under the hood of my truck trying to fit it, and knocked it outta park.

Re: Disc Brake Swap Booster Info.

I tried it without the brackets once before. I slotted all the holes in the original booster bracket. This made it adjustable and solved the clearance problem mentioned earlier. It was a real PITA and looked pretty crude since I don't have a shop, but it was functional. I think drilling the holes like they did in the other thread mentioned would be better if you don't want to use the channel like ToeJam did.
