Front Driveline questions
I am putting the big 1410 u-joints to the rear end, but I am wondering about the front drive line.
I think I need a CV joint on the front driveline and I don't even know if a 1410 is available. I am thinking 1350's I have both 1350 and 1410 drivelines to cut down so the cost there is about the same if a CV is not manditory. It's a 205 case and 4 inch lift with Dana 60 front. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance

Hey Scrub you're on the right track with cutting down a rear driveline. If you only have 4" of lift like youre sig says youll be fine without a c/v, Ive got 8" and its fine with some grindin for clearance of the joints. Find a Ford 205 front output as they're 32 spline and youll have a nearly unbreakable setup.

Thanks for the reply. I found a site at Colorado k5 on the subject, and they used 1350 cv's and 1410's at the axle. costs like 600 bucks. http://www.coloradok5.com/highanglereview.shtml pretty cool though. I talked to the guy at High Angle driveline. Nice guy, he sent me to Petersen's 4x4 Aug 2001 issue (which was right under the Playboy year-end issue) so I looked up some stuff. You can only put the 1410 on the 32 spline front output. They didn't mention that Ford made one, only that theirs was 165 bucks. I think you saved me a pile of dough. He also said I could get by with just a u-joint with the small lift. He also said the rears come stock with 32 splines... I dinno.. and they would take a 1410. I have always found it much cheaper to go get a used driveline and get it cut down, rather than have one made from scratch. I paid 200 bucks for pretty new 1410 , 2-piece driveline out of a Dodge 1-ton. I managed to find 2 over a year's time, so I am set. Thanks again
