Fuel Sending Unit

Like alot of you guy's i have relocated my fuel tant behind the axel, between the rails. The only problem I have is the fuel gage needle jumps around with the sloshing of the fuel in the tank. Are their any fixes for this? Thanks

Re: Fuel Sending Unit

According to some info on another page, my volvo has a "damper circuit" in the fuel gauge system somewhere, and it is to solve just that problem. It steadies the needle, keeping it form reacting quickly.

I don't know what such a thing actually does electrically, or if you can get them as some accessory add-on. All I can tell you is an electrical solution does seem to exist and is in use on some cars.

Re: Fuel Sending Unit

when i was working as a mechanic with my dad on new pontiacs and buicks, i've seen a few anti-slosh modules that keep the needle steady. but some of the time they were more of a problem than a solution
